needs no commentary

At one time, we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived, and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of HIS mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by HIS grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:3-7
As for you, you were DEAD in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of WRATH.
BUT because of his great love for us, GOD, who is rich in mercy, made us ALIVE even when we were DEAD in our transgressions--it is by GRACE you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:1-5

just a phone call

I had no idea I would have a new story to tell so soon, but God works 24/7 huh?!
Yesterday, I was working in the yard when my 10 year old yells from the house "Mooommm, pphoonnee!!!" So I yelled back, "bring me the phone!!" (I was on a roll and did not want to stop) When I said 'hello' a familiar voice on the other end said "Hey! I haven't talked to you in a long time and I was just calling to see how you are!" Now, this friend of mine has went through some tough stuff fairly recent and I immediately felt ashamed that I had not been the one to call HER. I really haven't talked to or seen her in quite awhile. But she was so sincere and just plain sweet about wanting to see how we all were. It was good to hear from her and it made me realize it doesn't take a lot of time or a big production to just keep in touch. We were only on the phone 15 minutes.
Isn't that so much like God....sitting there, not seeing or hearing from us for days or weeks on end and then out of the blue -- He'll just touch us somehow and remind us HE is still there even if WE haven't taken the time. He says 'hey, how are YOU?" I love the way He is so gracious and merciful, to take the time to show me through the love of a friend, not a crisis or tragedy.
Thank you Lord!
And thank you H.S. It was good to talk to you!

I am Blessed, I am not a writer

Last week I came down with something, flu, the Doc said no, but I was SICK...3 days at least before I started feeling on the uphill swing. I have a dear friend who called me (she just had a baby a few weeks ago) and said, "Do you like potato or vegetable soup better?" and I said, "NO WAY are YOU making ME supper!!" She is the very stubborn sort, so we got potato soup AND a most delicious dessert. My husband can cook, I could have even cooked (ordered pizza) but the soup was so good and just felt good on my lungs to eat hot soup. I swear it cut my recoup time in half. I saw Jesus care about my little, tiny, unimportant, measly cold....not only that, my children got to see Him too. Thank you B.D. for loving Him and letting Him love through you.

Now, I have so many experiences I can write about, but I'll just have to save them for subsequent posts.

I hate editing/proofreading but I also hate mistakes, so this will probably be the death of me AND my blog! Have a blessed week!
